While performance verification is not a requirement of the Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR), users of performance measurement are increasingly looking to verification to support managers' claims of performance and compliance.  Consequently, AIMR does recommend it.  In this article, the author lays out for us the case for obtaining verification, the relevant standards emerging and the elements comprising a satisfactory process.
